Before you buy that land in Western Kenya — talk to us first

Two professionals in conversation over property maps at a Kakamega office

Chessgrovez consulting sessions cut through the speculation and give you a clear picture of what a plot, development, or portfolio move actually looks like on the ground.

What a Chessgrovez consulting session covers

A consulting session is a focused, paid meeting — in person at our Kakamega office or by video call — where we work through your specific property question with no agenda other than giving you useful answers. Common use cases: you've inherited land and don't know whether to sell, develop, or hold; you're a diaspora investor trying to assess whether a plot being offered to you is genuinely priced at market rate; you're a developer scoping whether a particular ward in Kakamega County has the demand to support a rental development. We charge a flat session fee, stated upfront, and you leave with a written summary of our findings and recommendations.

Three questions we help you answer

These represent the most common decisions our consulting clients face. If yours is different, still ask — we'll tell you honestly whether we can help.

Hold, sell, or develop?

You own land or a building in Western Kenya and you're not sure what the right move is. We assess current market conditions, your timeline, and realistic development costs to give you a grounded recommendation.

Is this price fair?

Someone is selling you a property in Kakamega and you want an independent read on the asking price before committing. We compare it against genuine market data and tell you what we think — plainly.

Where should I invest?

You have capital to put into Western Kenya real estate and you want to understand which sub-markets have genuine demand, which are oversupplied, and which are early-stage with realistic upside.

What consulting doesn't replace

A consulting session gives you strategic clarity — it's not a substitute for a formal valuation report, legal due diligence on title deeds, or survey work. We'll always tell you when your question requires a registered valuer or a property advocate rather than our strategic input. We don't charge for that referral. There's also no pressure to list with Chessgrovez after a consulting session — some clients do, many don't. The session stands on its own. We'd rather you left better informed than felt cornered into a service you didn't come in for.

“I'm based in Manchester and my family kept pushing me to buy land in Kakamega. I booked a video call with Chessgrovez, spent an hour going through two specific plots with them, and walked away knowing one was fairly priced and one wasn't. That single session saved me from a KSh 1.2 million mistake. Money very well spent.”
